Three Prairie Public PBS TeacherLine Summer Courses:
Enrollment for the summer session of PBS TeacherLine is now open! Prairie Public is offering three PBS TeacherLine courses, Teaching with WebQuests for Grades K-12 , Enabling Students with Special Needs to Succeed in Math Class and An Introduction to Underlying Principles and Research for Effective Literacy Instruction. All three courses will be facilitated by experienced area educators. Graduate credit through North Dakota State University Distance and Continuing Education is available.

Specially trained, certified facilitators lead over 100 top-quality, standards-based courses that span the entire curriculum: Mathematics, Reading/Language Arts, Science, Instructional Technology, and Instructional Strategies. Coursework can cover a complete sequence of study or address a specific requirement, depending on a teacher's or district's needs.

You must register for PBS TeacherLine prior to taking a course. If you are already a registered user, you'll notice that "usernames" as login IDs have been eliminated. You can now log into the site using your primary e-mail address and the same password that you previously used to access PBS TeacherLine. If you have never registered for a PBS TeacherLine account, now is a great time to create your free account and access the professional development resources that are available.
Teachers enrolling in a course should be familiar with taking an online course. If you are not, you should complete the free PBS Practice Learning Online with TeacherLine orientation course prior to the start of the class. This will automatically appear as one of your courses after you have registered.

National Courses are also available through PBS TeacherLine starting June 25, 2008.
Most districts
offer professional development credit upon presentation of the certificate of
completion that is issued. For an accreditation fee, graduate credit is available.
