Adding Value demonstrates the advantage of ingenuity
FARGO, N.D., September 7, 2006 A new production from Prairie
Public is demonstrating that, with a little know-how, a farm can yield
unexpected assets.
ADDING VALUE explores the ingenuity and creativity of farm families across
North Dakota as they find new ways to increase their income through on-farm
processing endeavors that use existing agriculture projects. The program
premieres Wednesday, September 13, at 8 p.m. (CT).
Prairie Public producer Matt Olien focused his documentary on eight operations,
including the Maple River Winery in Casselton; the Red Trail Vineyard,
Buffalo; Crane Creek Gardens, Stanley; Pipestem Creek, Carrington; Patrie's
Raspberries on the Prairie, Bowdon; Candlelight Cottage, Chaseley; Flax
USA, Goodrich; and Dakota Worms, McClusky.
Funding for ADDING VALUE is provided by USDA Rural Development and the
members of Prairie Public Television.
